Junglist Photo Shoot with Ray Keith and The Ragga Twins
Junglist Photo Shoot in London
We recently met up with three legends of the Rave Circuit for a photo shoot in London. Both Ray Keith and the Ragga Twins have been wearing Junglist Network's Jnglst Clothing range for a few years now. We wanted to get some new shots of them all somewhere appropriate looking in some of our latest Junglist T-Shirts.
The Photo Shoot Location
Brick Lane is always a safe bet for a photo shoot and we found an amazing little area of wasteland just a few minutes away. It has been taken over by the Nomadic Community Gardens who have turned it into a use able space for everyone. There are vegetable plots for local residents, bees a cafe and loads more. It's packed full of painted random bits of art and is generally a great use of some long abandoned space. Where better for a Jungle Photo Shoot.
The Ragga Twins Step up
First up where the Ragga Twins. Two of our favourite vocalists in the Jungle, Drum and Bass Rave scene. Their harmonised vocals really give bass music an extra dimension to rave music that is often missing. David and Trevor Destouche aka Demon Rocker and Flinty Badman better known as the Ragga Twins have been tearing up Jungle raves since before it was Jungle. Their style and flow effortless transcend musical genres and sounds as good over a breaks or bass track as it does Jungle.
The Jnglst Shoot
We wanted to capture the whole brotherly element in the photo shoot and got a couple of great shots of them looking in mirrors and reflections. A few action shots of them on mobile phones and walking through the urban wasteland. There are a couple of great photos of them hanging out on the porch of a shed of some kind. It looks like something out of a graffiti strewn post apocalyptic film set.
We had just printed some new tees, so hot of the press we got them wearing our Jungle Roots T-Shirt. This Tee is one of our best sellers and shows all the roots and influences on Jungle Music. Particularly appropriate for such genre hoping artists, it has Reggae, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop, Dub and loads of other dance music genres made into a Tree. It's all about the Jungle Roots.
We had also just reprinted some more White Junglist Mixtape T Shirts and thought they needed to rock some of those.
The Ragga Twins have been loving our Grey Joggers and Camo Detail Hoodies, so we had a few of them wearing those in the Urban Jungle. Finally some of our beanies and an Olive Green Junglist London Vinyl tee were pulled out and lock super fresh in the strange urban wonderland.
Next up, Ray Keith from Dread Recordings
Next up for some Junglist Network and Jnglst Clothing photos, is the Dread Recordings head honcho and legendary DJ, Ray Keith. We have been working with Ray for a whole on our new Junglist Dread Collaboration. He had been wearing our clothing for a couple of years when we started work on the project.
The Dread Junglist Range was released with 4 different t shirt designs, all featuring our own Camo pattern and the Dread Recordings logo. We also brought out a Hoody and a Sweatshirt.
Ray was here to model the range and thankfully he brought along his amazing beard, which had just had a trim.
We shot Ray Keith just outside the entrance to the Nomadic Community Garden next to some Graf on the side of a massive wall. The perfect backdrop for a Dread Recordings photo shoot.
Ray's beard and him are soon all done, they are both super professional and are off into the evening as quickly as they arrived.
Some amazing shots of both the Ragga Twins and Ray Keith wearing some of the latest Junglist Clothing T-Shirts, Hoodies and Sweatshirts. Three legends of Drum and Bass, Jungle and Rave repping our Clothing. We couldn't be happier and we hope you love the shoots.
